Kathleen “Kats” Miller (nee Gosnell), our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Taken from us too soon…
Age 63 of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born on June 1, 1956 in Blue Island, Illinois; Kathleen Marie is the daughter of Robert and the late Patricia (Cavanaugh) Gosnell. She was raised and educated in Hometown, Illinois and graduated from Oaklawn Community High School in 1974. Following high school, Kats went on to earn her Bachelor of Business Administration: Accounting and Finance from American InterContinental University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA while working full time and raising a family. She then continued on to earn her Master’s in Business Administration: Accounting and Finance, while simultaneously advancing within the company she worked for. Kats worked for Ulta Beautys corporate office for 14 years until retiring in 2015.
Kats was a free spirit who enjoyed music, laughing and spending quality time with her family and (many) friends. She was loved by so many people. She was an artist, a gardener and an avid reader. She enjoyed going to concerts and dancing, anything that set her soul on fire. Kats top priority was always her family, especially her children, grandchildren and grand-dogs. She was pure magic and will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Kats is survived by her father: Robert (Beverly) Gosnell; children: Kaleena Fancher, Kent (Amanda) Holzinger and Kevin (Jessica) Holzinger; grandchildren: Taylor, Hazel, Cambria, Nixon, Ember, Nikko and William; husband of eight years: Larry Miller; brother: David Gosnell; sister: Susan (Dave) Kapitanek; grand-doggies: Oakley and Kila; step-children: Shadow Martinez, Charity Miller and Joshua Miller; her dog, Blue, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Patricia Gosnell and the father of her children: William Holzinger.
Per Kats wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial service will be held this summer.
