Kathleen “Kay” A. Mihelich nee Mallaney, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Leroy Mihelich; children, Karen (Ken) Henrickson, Michael (Jean) Mihelich, Sally (Rick) Sterioti and Tracy (Tony) Taranto. Beloved grandchildren; Alyssa Sterioti, Nolan Henrickson, Anna Mihelich, Andrew Sterioti, Casey Henrickson, Erin Mihelich, Ava and Giada Taranto. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ida Mallaney, siblings; Monica, Bernard, James, Edward, Patrick, Norene, Jean, and Joan.
Kay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to cater to all of her family and friends making sure she had your favorite candy. She was very proud of her Irish heritage. She loved to shop, see a good movie, and go to the casinos. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial donations in Kathleen’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held on Wednesday February 8, 2016 with a memorial visitation from 9:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL 60435) then processing to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Cremation rites have been accorded.
