Karen A. Plese

Age 68 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Lightways Hospice in Joliet with her family by her side.

Born March 21, 1954 in Joliet, Karen was a daughter of Eugene and Eileen (Cox) Plese. She was raised and educated in Joliet and made a career for herself working in sales with various department stores over the years. Karen was a music enthusiast and was the biggest fan of Alice Cooper. She also adored her poodles which were like her children. Karen was a selfless and caring individual who loved spending time with her family and absolutely cherished her numerous nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Karen is survived by her sister: Kimberly (Paul) Finnegan; nieces and nephews: Allison Hodges, Kristen Hodges, Cody Hodges and Thomas (Melissa) Plese; great-nieces and great-nephew: Bonni Powers, Donte Plese and Mazikeen Plese; aunt: Marilynn Plese and her beloved poodle: Madison.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Eileen and Eugene; sister: Kathy Plese and her other beloved pets: Max, Taylor, Sidney and Avery.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. Interment will follow and Karen will be laid to rest with her parents and sister at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery in Crest Hill.
