June R. Lesnik

June R. Lesnik (Timm) age 98. On February 1, 2022 our beloved “Looney June” died peacefully at home.

June was born February 21, 1923 to the late Bill and Abbie Timm in Lockport. She moved to Joliet in 1953 when she married the late Joseph Lesnik and there, they raised 7 children.

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Paul) Yack, Paul Lesnik (Philippe Honore), Linda Fuller, Carol Lesnik (Davee Bryan), Lori Sewing, Ray (Gina) Lesnik, Maggie Lesnik (Ken Veseleny); grandchildren, Brook (Alma), Jason, Brandy (Caton), Jeff (Jenny), Michael, Bonnie, Jacob, Hannah, Ian, Aidan and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Haley, Aron, David (Amanda), Karla, Kelsey, Natalie and Joey; great-great granddaughter, Savannah. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Geraldine Timm; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Her family was her treasure.

Preceded in death by her parents and siblings; husband, Joe (2010) and daughter, Mary in infancy.

June worked for Vidmar Buick and retired from Christian Brothers. She loved playing solitaire, puzzles and crosswords. She never met a strawberry she didn’t like especially on crepes or in a milkshake.

The family sends a special thank you to her caregivers: Margie and Davonne from Lighways Hospice; Melissa, Susan; and nurse practitioner, Diane Zuelke who was like a daughter to her.

In lieu of flowers donations to Lightways Hospice, St. Joseph Church in Joliet or St. Joseph School in Lockport would be appreciated.

A celebration of June’s life will begin on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road Joliet from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
