Juliann “Julie” Marie McMahon of Oswego, 69 years of age, passed away peacefully after an extended illness at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Julie was born to her parents Michael and Lillian (nee Gerardi) Steczo in Evergreen Park, IL on April 30, 1955.
Julie was raised in Roseland, IL and graduated from Fenger High School. She started her career immediately after graduating high school and held a number of positions in varying industries, but she was especially fond of having served as a baker for her local Jewel grocery store. Julie enjoyed a wide variety of music, but was especially fond of country music from classics to modern day. She loved to spend her time and efforts tending to her garden and landscaping. She was very fond of decorating for the holidays, cooking, and just generally caring for those she loved. Spending time with her family was always at the top of her priority list, and she had an enviable collection of tea pots and snow globes.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Lillian, her brother Michael (Dorothy) Steczo, and her grandson Greyson McMahon.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost forty years, John McMahon, her daughter Jaime (Steve) Pressman, her son John Patrick McMahon, her daughter Taylor McMahon, and five grandchildren.
Per Julie’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday January 3rd from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL 60435.
