Lifelong resident of Joliet and late of Loyalton of Joliet. Julia was born on the first day of spring, March 20, 1916. Called home to our Lord on June 9, 2007, peacefully at the Joliet Area Hospice Home.
Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mary Marvic. Julia's first husband Wilbert Voss, her beloved son Donald Voss, her second husband Edmund Figlewski Sr., and her daughter Carol Voss Meskill.
Survived by her loving family, daughter, JoAnn (Bernard) Przybysz; son, Edmund (Mary Kay) Figlewski Jr. Busha will be missed by her 11 grandchildren; and her 18 great grandchildren. She leaves behind her dear niece, Evelyn Marvic; and her beloved sister-in-law, Jennie Karruckus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Julia worked at W.T. Grant and Co. and then Seron Manufacturing Co.
She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who had a beauty of character that endeared her to all who crossed her path. She was the embodiment of her name, Jewel, a true gem on this earth.
We would like to thank the Joliet Area Community Hospice Staff for the compassionate level of empathy, dignity, and care given to Julia and Family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in Julia's name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice.
From where prayer services will be held at 12:30 p.m. to St. Mary Nativity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be TODAY, Tuesday, MORNING at the funeral home starting at 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
