Judith Derlinga

Judith Ann Derlinga (nee Gersich), age 76, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2013.

Judy is survived by her children, Louis of Rockdale, David and Terri both of Joliet; grandchildren, Becky, Kacey (Christianna) and Danielle; great-grandson, Michael; one brother, Frank "Butch" (fiancA�AC. Sharon Homerding) Gersich; sister-in-law, Louise Gersich; one aunt, Sophia Darin; nephews, Jason (Dawn) and Kyle Gersich; great-nephew, Braden Gersich; great-niece, Kellisyn Gersich; cousins and her retirement companion Tiger.

Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna (nee Wojciechowski) Gersich; one brother Joseph Gersich; numerous aunts and uncles.

Judy was a 50 year member of the KSKJ St. Francis Society #29, the Slovenian Home, a member and past president of the Slovenian Women's Union Branch #20,the American Fraternal Union Lodge #66 and the Diocesan Pastoral Council. Judy sang in the Holy Cross choir. She retired from Dunn, Martin, and Miller Ltd. and her own tax service which is now ran by her daughter. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, a cocktail or two, and enjoying dinner at Cookies restaurant in Minooka. She also enjoyed the wheel of fortune, her Chicago Cubbies and any card game she could get into.

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at the Inn at Willow Falls, along with Vitas Hospice.

In lieu of flowers donations directed to the family would be appreciated.

A celebration of Judy's life will begin on Thursday, January 2, 2013 with prayers in the Tezak Funeral Home Chapel at 9:20 a.m. then moving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Per Judy's wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet at a later date. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 1, 2013 from 3-8 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet.
