JOYCE A. (JURICIC) KOPTA KORST
Born on February 10, 1933 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Buchar) Juricic. Joyce entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving is her sister, Jean (late Gerald "Jerry") Herbst of Joliet, IL, nephew Rev. Robert Herbst, OFM, Conv. of Oakland, CA, nieces Rita Herbst Bottomley of Joliet, IL, Renee Herbst of Shorewood, IL, and great niece Elaine Bottomley of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are stepchildren, Richard Korst of Sandpoint, ID, Renee Korst (James) Brannen of Richmond, VT, and Victorine Korst (Howard) Mahoney of Gardner, IL. Step-grandchildren, Matthew Brannen, Joshua, Jacob and Amanda Korst, and Michael and Megan Mahoney.
Preceded in death by her first husband, George Kopta, and son, Alan Kopta. Also preceded by her stepson, Terrence (Terri) Korst, and her beloved second husband, Richard Korst.
Joyce retired from Argonne National Laboratory where she was a dedicated employee for many years. Joyce was a lifelong, active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet, IL. She was also a member of Slovenian Union of America (formerly Slovenian Women's Union of America), and St. Genevieve Society of KSKJ. Joyce loved to cook and took great pride in her yard and the flowers that brought life, color, and joy. Her wishes included being an organ donor.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph Church in Joliet, IL would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Joyce's life will begin on Friday, October 16, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Joyce's nephew, The Most Reverend Robert M. Herbst OFM, Conv. will officiate. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet.
