Josephine M. Krohn (nee Dragovan), age 88, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015.
Josephine is survived by her children, John (Pamela) Krohn of Montgomery, Kimberly (Lawrence) Colwell of Elgin, David (Deborah) Krohn of Durant, Iowa, Holly (Mark) Peterson of Seattle, Washington, Kris (Elizabeth) Krohn of Sugar Grove; grandchildren, Lauren Colwell, Tom Colwell and Matthew Steven; sister-in-law, Lucille (the late William) Dragovan; brother-in-law, Harry (the late Bernadine) Micci.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Krohn (2010); siblings, William Dragovan, Ann Dragovan, Bernadine Micci and Richard Dragovan; parents, Matt and Mary Krohn.
Josephine was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and Ryburn Nursing School in Ottawa, IL. She married the love her life, John Krohn on April 1, 1951. Josephine worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and Four Seasons Nursing Home in Joliet. She was a member of the Slovenian Union of America, Rock Island Arsenal Historical Society and St. Malachy’s Women’s Circle in Geneseo, IL. Josephine enjoyed traveling the United States, visiting her family and friends, playing cards and Scrabble with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time at their cottage on the Kankakee River with her family. Josephine will be missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the nurses and aids at Brighton Gardens of St. Charles where she lived for the past 5 ½ years and Harbor Light Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family invites relatives and friends to gather at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel in Joliet on Saturday, January 2, 2016 for a committal service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Josephine’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
