Josephine K. Fajfar ,age 89, passed May 25, 2010 at Sacred Heart Village Rehabilitation Center in Louisville, KY. Born Josephine Kathryn Terlep in Joliet, she resided in Rockdale throughout her adult life. She attended St. Joseph"s Grade School, Joliet, and attended to and assisted in raising her younger sisters. She later, with pride, attained her GED. In 1995 she moved to Louisville, KY to live with her daughter, Carol and son-in-law Tom. Her pastimes were gardening, raising canaries, and listening to hymns; all were life-long loves. She proudly worked at Hart Schaffner & Marx during WWII, and married John Jerry Fajfar, another Joliet resident and Army Veteran, in 1948. She joyfully became a housewife and mother to two children. After the death of her husband she was employed in various capacities to keep her household. It was her greatest pride that both children attained advanced college degrees and went on to successful professional careers. She is preceded in death by her loving husband John Fajfar, and her beloved son Dennis J. Fajfar, MA. She is survived by; her devoted and loving daughter Carol Jo (Thomas) Fajfar Whetstone Ph.D; her sisters Frances (late Joseph) Brandolino, Genevieve Dumyahn and Virginia (Jerry) Mestdagh; one granddaughter, Kathryn Ann Fajfar; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, and dear life-long friends.
