At rest Monday April 14, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years Helen J. (nee Laoutides), son Joseph (Peggy) Zlogar of Naperville, grandchildren, Zachary, Marisa, and Elisabeth. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents John and Theresa (Horvat) Zlogar. Six sisters, Theresa (Talaska), Frances (Laurich), Helen (Muhich), Dorothy (Fritz), his twin Lillian (Carroll), and Delores in infancy. Four brothers John, Albin, Julius, Robert. Born in Joliet, veteran of US Navy during WWII, serving proudly aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Lexington. Member of VFW Post 367, American Legion Post 1080, and U.S. Navy Armed Guard.

Joseph was a local musician who loved playing music and was widely regarded throughout the Chicago land area as an accomplished Bassist (upright String Bass). He played with many local area duo"s, trio"s, quartette"s, bands and orchestra"s, including Jules Ryan, Mr. Zee"s, and Jay Mau. He was also a member of the Joliet Federation of Musicians local 37 for over 50 years. According to Joseph"s wishes cremation rites were accorded. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Joseph Church renovation will be appreciated.

The Family of Joseph Zlogar invites relatives and friends to join them for a memorial mass at St. Joseph Church on Tuesday April 22, 2008 at 11AM. Private inurnment St. Joseph Cemetery Family will receive relatives and friends at St. Joseph Church from 10:30 AM until time of service.
