Joseph W. Jacksa, age 88, entered into eternal life on Monday, November 23, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Marcella Jacksa (nee Titus); children Judith (Roger) Kovack, JoAnn (David) Egizio, Joseph (Mary), and James (Kristen) Jacksa; grandchildren, Kevin (Amelia) Kovack, Kristine (Robert) Kovack-Lesh, Laura (Joseph) Cabay, David Egizio, Jessica (Steven Carlevato, fiancé), James, Anna, and Jacob Jacksa; great-grandchildren, Clare and Vince Cabay, Alexandra and Andrew Lesh; sister, Frances (late Mayor Arthur) Schultz; and brother, Richard Jacksa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Jenny (nee Obert) Jacksa; sisters, Shirley (the late Robert) Skerjan and Rosemary (the late Raymond) Slobodnik.

Joseph was a longtime parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill. He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He worked for most of his 34 year career at Commonwealth Edison as a Master Mechanic at the Will County Generating Station until retiring in 1987. Joseph was a board member of Chase Lake HOA. He was also a member of CECO Recreation Club where he enjoyed camping and boating. He was an avid traveler, visiting various destinations throughout the country with his wife and children. Joseph’s love of life and family will continue on for generations to come.

Donations in Joseph’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Joseph’s life will begin on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet. American Legion Post 1080 service at 6:00 p.m.
