Joseph J. Stasko, age 86, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Congetta (nee Catarello); loving daughter, Jean Pellegrini; cherished grandchildren, Mark Pellegrini of Decatur, IL, Nicole (Greg) Murdaugh of Joliet, IL,; dear sister, Ann Ojeda; two Granddog Pals, Rudy and Loki; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.
Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Frances Stasko; brother, Ronald Stasko; and sisters, Mary Ann Carroll and Teri Giulani.
Joseph served for 4 years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Smurfit-Stone Conatiner Company as a supervisor for over 30 years.
A Celebration of Joseph’s life will begin on Friday, January 8, 2016 with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill.
Interment of cremated remains to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Per Joseph’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services held at the funeral home.
