Joseph G. Mucka, Jr.
Age 70 of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Swedish Covenant Hospital.
Born August 13, 1950 in Chicago, Joseph was the son of Joseph, Sr. and Lucille (Chiavola) Mucka. He was raised and educated in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of the city. Joseph was employed with the Chicago Park District for a number of years and then became an anger management counselor and a valuable part of the Anger Management Clinic staff until retiring. In his free time, Joseph enjoyed talking politics and spending time with friends. He was a member of the Rising Phoenix Motorcycle Club and was also a huge Beatles and Elvis Presley fan. Joseph was always keeping up with his favorite sporting events, whether on television or attending games in person. He will be remembered for his generous monetary contributions to various charitable organizations, but even more so, with his line of work, always taking the time to help anyone who needed assistance. Whether in his office or at the corner bus stop. Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sister: Kitty (Rich) Johnston; daughter: Carol (Bob) Husak; granddaughter: Sarah Husak; three nephews: Michael (Rachel), Gregory (Theresa) and Lucas (Meghan) Johnston; four great-nieces: Brigid, Hannah, Meara and Charlotte, and great-nephew: Arthur, as well as numerous cousins and close friends.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Mucha, Sr. and Lucille Zeller; sister: E. Bonnie Cronin, and cousins: Louis Chiavola and Nicholas Chiavola.
Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. For those wishing to attend the visitation and in order to follow Covid-19 guidelines a link to sign up for a time to arrive has been created.

A private prayer service will take place at 12:00 p.m. and guests wishing to join the family virtually or attend the visitation virtually are welcome to tune in to the livestream that will be made available at that time.
Masks and social distancing practices are required.
Please be sure to register before attending the visitation.
Per Joseph’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
A celebration of Joseph’s life will continue on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial being held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 24500 S Navajo Drive in Channahon. Occupancy for Mass in church is 60 guests. Masks and social distancing practices are required.
A private interment will follow and Joseph will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois.
