Age 80, at rest on Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Illinois Veteran Home in Manteno, IL.
Survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Clementine M. (nee Barthelme) Mandac of Elwood, IL; loving father of Chris (Marcia) Mandac of Custer Park, IL; dearest grandfather of Jason (Lisa) of Elwood, IL, Joshua (Michelle) Mandac, Jennifer (Eric) Wollenzien both of Wilmington, IL and JeriLyn Mandac; step-grandson Christopher Tidmore both of Custer Park, IL; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Frank) Lojeski of Joliet, IL, Margaret (late George) Comp of Rockton, IL, Frances (Bill) Krizmanic of Joliet, IL. and Judy (late Richard) Kepp of Neoga, IL; and one brother, Michael ""Spike"" (Virginia) Ercegovich of Essex, IL.
Preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Amelia (nee Stipcevic) Mandac; five brothers, Anthony Kotlar, John Hercegovics, Frederick, William and Edward Mandac; and one sister, Ann Kaczmarek.
Joseph was born in Joliet resident of Jackson Township for 40 years.
Retired from Matheson Tri Gas after 45 years of service. He was a sergeant serving in the U.S. Army serving in WWII and Korea. Member of American Legion Post 1080 and former Member of the Moose Lodge #300.
