Joseph Kovic
Age 65. Passed away un expectedly Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Survived by his loving family: wife Colleen (Nee Gleason), son Michael (Shari) Kovic and two daughters Kelly (Larry) Alt and Kerry (Joseph) Frescura. Proud Papa of six grandchildren Patrick and Katie Kovic, Addison and Jack Alt, Joseph and Alex Frescura. Also survived by one brother Robert (Judy) Kovic, aunts, uncles, niece, several cousins and mother-in-law Angela Gleason. Preceded by his parents Joseph and Mary (Nee Polyak) Cvetkovich and nephew Bill Kovic. Joe was born November 26, 1940 and lived in Crest Hill his entire life. He was a graduate of Lockport Township High School class of 1958. Joe retired from Commonwealth Edison in 1997 as Manager of Sub-Station Construction after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, former member and President of Chaney-Monge School Board, active member of St. Anne Church Crest Hill and member of St. Anne Parish Council, charter member and Past-President of the Crest Hill Lion's Club, (current President of The Joliet Rivals Club, Treasurer of the Crest Hill Veteran's Memorial Committee, member of the KSKJ Lodge 143), served on the Crest Hill Planning Commission for 28 years and was a Crest Hill Alderman from 1997-2001. Joe's passions in life were his grandchildren and helping others. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
