Joseph J. Kosmerl

Joseph J. Kosmerl, Age 93, entered eternal life on Thursday, July 3, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Kathryn (nee Thomas) Kosmerl; beloved children, Thomas Kosmerl, Cheryl (Herbert) Zorn, and James Kosmerl; cherished grandchildren, Eric (Deborah) Zorn, Elise (Thomas) Greenshields, Erin (Rico) Rondorf, and Laura Kosmerl; eight loving great-grandchildren also survive.

Preceded in death by parents; Louis and Johanna Kosmerl; siblings, Ludwig, Mary, Robert, Jen, and John.

Joseph married his loving wife Kay in 1944. He served his grateful nation as a United States Army Veteran during World War II. Joseph worked at the USA Army Munitions Command as a Procurement Production Specialist. While being employed Joseph was awarded The Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. After retirement Joseph enjoyed many activities including, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his loving family.

The family invites relatives and friends to gather at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Joliet on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 for a visitation from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Per Joseph's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no funeral home visitation.
