Joseph A. Kociuba Age 87

At rest on Sunday December 9, 2007 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.

Survived by his wife of 65 years Barbara (nee Adamich) Kociuba, children Joseph E. (late Barbara), of North Bay Village Fl., Jane E. Polnaszek-Gray (late David Polnaszek) (Michael Gray) of Hawthorn Woods, IL. and James E. (Sally) Kociuba of Plainfield, IL. Grandchildren Heather (Brian) Dybing of Kenosha, WI., Amber (fiancA�?A�AC. Elliot Dines) Polnaszek of Hollywood, FL., Damen (Heather) Polnaszek of Bartlett, IL., James (fiancA�?A�AC. Michelle Guffey) Kociuba of Joliet and Erica Kociuba of Plainfield, IL., step grandchildren Meg (Mark) Grethen of Friendswood, TX., Michael J. Gray of Lake in The Hills, IL. And Amy (Robert) Fambrough of Portola, CA. 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his mother Anna nee Zarnowski) and father Andrew Kociuba. Siblings Josephine (late Ray) Schultz, Katherine (Peter) Wisneski, Julia (Raymond) Derlinga and Stanley (Ida) Kociuba.

Born in and a resident of Joliet. A Master Sergeant in The US Army serving in WWII in North Africa, Europe and Pacific Campaigns. Wounded twice in Europe and North Africa. Duties included protecting The Vatican and Serviced Mass for Pope and Military Guard for Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Joseph was Active in Moran A.C., American Legion Post 1080, Will County Seniors, St. Joseph Seniors, St. Joseph Church Patron and President of Ohio A.C.. Retired Steelworker, Iron Worker Local 444, helped build the Prudential Building in Chicago, and Tully Air Force Station in Tully, Greenland.

Retired from CECO Steel in Lemont. He was an avid golfer and had 2 holes in one. He worked part time for many years as a Ranger for Wedgewood Golf Course in Joliet. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Joseph Church, Joliet will be appreciated.

Where chapel services will be held Friday December 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 2 to 8 PM
