Joseph E. Kanta At rest Monday, December 26, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marie H. (nee Resetic) Kanta; his loving children, Jane (Jim) Juricic, Eileen (Jim) McCann of Geneva, and Larry (Fiancee Ofi Ramos) Kanta; loving grandfather of James Jr., Christopher (Naomi) Juricic, Sarah McCann Jennifer McCann, Bradley and Amy Kanta; and one great-grandson, Ryan Juricic; his sisters, Irene (late John) Dutka, Margaret (late Bill) Meyer, Helen Kanta, and Ann Kanta; three brothers, Steve (Florence), Ben (Monica), and Ed Kanta; a sister-in-law, Bernice (Emil) Ramsak; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Margaret Kanta; a brother, Louis Kanta; and two sisters, Emily Russum and Mary Krol. Joseph was born in Joliet on February 4, 1915. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre and Philippians. He retired from G.A.F. after 32 years of service. Joseph was a member of S.O.K.O.L., Senior Citizens Association, and the St. Joseph Senior Parishioners. Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the St. Joseph Church would be appreciated.
