Joseph A. Kaminskas

Joseph A. Kaminskas Sr., age 51, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with his loving family close by his side.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle (nee Meeks) Kaminskas; children, Kristin and Joseph Kaminskas Jr.; step-children, Tracie (Fred) Rittof and Jimmie (Katrena) Lloyd; step-grandchildren, Michael and Raven Lloyd; siblings, Christina (Jeffrey) Daniels, David (fiancAC.e Karen Scheidt), James Jr. (Erica) and Steven (Beverly); aunt, Maria Bodnar; uncle, Kestutis Kaminskas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Rita (nee De St. Jean) Kaminskas.

Joey was born in Joliet and raised in Rockdale, IL. He graduated from Rockdale Grade School and Joliet West High School, class of 1981. Joey was employed by Reichhold Chemical in Morris, IL, for 30 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for 34 years with the Rockdale Fire Protection District. Joey was a member of the Illinois Live Steamers Club and a train enthusiast. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved spending time with his family and friends. Joey also enjoyed coordinating the monthly Kaminskas family dinners. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. Joey will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Joseph's life will begin on Thursday, April 30, 2015, with a service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. celebrant Ken Plese officiating. Entombment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, from 3-8 p.m.
