Joseph spent his entire life in Joliet, working at Caterpillar Tractor Company, retiring after 41 years. He pursued with passion his love of woodworking, fishing, wrestling, jazz music, and being with family. Joseph volunteered in the maintenance department of Silver Cross Hospital for the past 15 years, sharing his gift of being able to fix anything. A jazz lover, Joseph could dance with enviable smoothness. He was a parishioner and usher at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Joe's quick wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed. If ever there was a "Good Joe," he was one. Those who met him were left with a smile.
The family extends warm appreciation to all physicians and nursing staff at Silver Cross Hospital, as well as to family and friends for visiting which made his last days happy and blest.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's name to Trinity Christian School, Shorewood or St. Mary Magdalene Church, Joliet would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Joseph's life will begin with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013, then driving in procession to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet.
