Age 89. At rest Thursday June 29, 2006 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Anne (nee Perinar) Chovan. Loving father of Marlene (Robert) Curry, and Ronald (late Theresa) Chovan. Dearest grandfather of Francis (Tracy) and Robert (Nancy) Curry, Melissa (Kelly) Pyles; his great-grandchildren, Brittany, Briley, Brynlin, and Robert Francis Curry, Brandon and Nicole Harris; a sister-in-law, Madeleine (late Edward) Chovan. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Sophia Chovan; six sisters, Margaret Osterman, Velma Hibler, Ann Kielian, Mara Ostir, Sophia Pavlick and Agnes Grunnet; a brother, Edward Chovan. Joseph was born in Joliet and has resided in the Joliet and Crest Hill areas for most of his life. He retired as a Building Contractor after 50 years of service. Jospeh was a Petty Officer 1st class in the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a member of V.F.W. Cantigny Post #367 and the American Legion Post #1080. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Joliet Area Community Hospice in his name would be appreciated.
