Joseph Paul Cheney

Joseph Paul Cheney, age 35, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

Joseph is survived by his parents, Valerie, Les (Maria) Cheney; siblings, Tricia (Mike) Kruchten, Kristina Marie Bishop, Richard (Shelly) Bishop and Nicole (Fiancé Mike Kerr) Cheney. Proud Uncle Joe Joe to, Justin, Karly, Matthew, Josh, Cody and Maddy and loved dearly by the Babcock Family and many friends. Also survived by one aunt, Sandra (Roy) Ravagnie; his wife, Christen Bauer; step-sons, Gage and Jacob Megrant. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce (nee Babcock) and Phil Jaeger, William and Violet Cheney; and one Uncle, Billy Cheney.

Joseph graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and attended Lockport Township High School. He enjoyed sports including all the Chicago Teams but most importantly loved to play and watch basketball. He worked in the construction industry throughout his life. Joseph had a great sense of humor and always made his family and friends laugh. He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Joseph’s life will begin on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 with a memorial visitation at Grace United Methodist Church, 1718 Avalon Ave, Joliet, IL 60435 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Joseph’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
