Jose A. Torres Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday August 20, 2012 at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Survived by his loving wife Elisa Torres (nee Rios) of 60 years; seven daughters, Rosario Torres, Gloria (Richard J.) Bannon, Petra T. Hammarstrom, Beatriz (Michael G.) Brulc, Barbara Fletcher, Guadalupe (Kevin L.) Milligan, Lucia T. (Keith A.) Johnson; one son Tony (Patty J.) Torres; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his son Felix Torres.
Jose retired from Kerr Glass in 1990 after over 20 years of service.
Jose dedicated his entire life to his family. He was a devout parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield, and was an inspiration and loved by all who knew him.
A Celebration of JoseA�??s life will begin on Friday August 24, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home chapel then moving in procession to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
