Jose S. Medina, age 67, entered eternal life on Monday, November 27, 2017.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Elaine S. (nee Lopez) Medina; his children, Jose A. (Amy) Medina, Gina Medina and Elisa Medina; grandchildren, Lisette (Tyler) Quintana, Kenneth E. III, Romeo A. and Christiano D. Fortunato; great-grandchildren, Marcello A. Aguilar, Elaina M. Medina , Gemma R. Quintana and Isabella R. Fortunato; siblings, Maria de los Angeles (Antonio) Gallardo, Teresa Cornejo, Fernando (late Deborah) and Alex (Mary) Medina; sister-in-law, Laura (late Juan) Medina; and mother-in-law, Bev (late Jose A. Lopez ) Snyder. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Manuel & Guadalupe (nee Campos) Medina; brother, Juan M. Medina; father-in-law, Jose A. Lopez; and sister-in-law, Deborah Medina.
Jose was born in Mexico and resided in Joliet. He retired as a welder from Paul D. Stark and Associates after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed all genres of music and greatly enjoyed traveling to different states with his wife, dancing to Tejano music. Jose also loved woodworking, the outdoors, reading, vacationing in Mexico with his family and was an avid Chicago sports fan. He will be truly missed.

A celebration of Jose’s life will begin on Saturday, December 2, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
