Jose C. Lopez

Jose C. Lopez, age 81, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Maria (nee Guzman); loving children, Arturo (Maria), Armando, Marisol (Israel) Diaz, Juan, Joel, and Simon; 15 cherished grandchildren; 7 cherished great-grandchildren; dear brothers, Genaro and Gonzalo Lopez; dear sister, Louisa Lopez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Hilaria (nee Garcia) Lopez.
Jose was born in Mexico and lived there during his adolescence. He owned horses that he often rode through the open country fields. He was a very active person and always liked to be doing something, whether it was working, hobbies, or spending time with his beloved wife and family. He will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Jose’s life will begin on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:00 a.m. then driving in procession to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
