Jorge Leon, Sr., age 66, entered into eternal life on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family.
Jorge is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Margarita (nee Alcaraz); loving children, Jorge Jr. (Amanda) and Luis (Cinnamon); cherished granddaughter, Canela Leon; special nephew, Jose Juan Alcaraz; four dear brothers and four dear sisters all living in Mexico; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Paloma; parents, Lorenzo and Margarita (nee Moreno); brother, Rafael.
Jorge was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending all of his free time with his family. He was a devout Catholic. He was always looking for something to fix. Jorge worked in many different fields throughout his life and sacrificed so that his family would be cared for. He will always be remembered for his humble and generous nature.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jorge’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Vilaseca Josephine Center, 351 N. Chicago St, Joliet, IL 60432, would be greatly appreciated.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Loyola University Medical Center, and Joliet Area Community Hospice for the excellent care provided.
A Celebration of Jorge’s life will begin with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus. Please meet at the church. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
