John R. Zelko, Sr, ""Rocky"", age 73, of Minooka, passed away September 7, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center
Survived by; his wife of 50 years, Barbara (nee Coppedge); his sons, John R. (Karen), Jr. of Morris, Frank ""Pat"" (Laurel) of Minooka, and Joseph (Jill) of Coal City; his grandchildren, Jennifer, John III (Amanda), Trent, Patrick, Heather, Brighid, Kayla and Casey; and his sisters, Josephine (late Martin) Spanich, of Joliet, Delores (late Michael) Frankovich, of Joliet, and Lillian (late Louis) Korilko, of Minooka. He was brother-in-law to Everette ""Bud"" (Jan) Coppedge, Marion (late Charles) Sweedler, Charles (Sally) Franke, Christine (Richard) Sweedler, Justine (Rodney)McNeil, Helene (Leonard) Seltzer, Colleen Franke, and Jessie (late James) White. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and his constant companion, Moose.
Preceded by his parents Josephine and Frank Zelko, his sister Sylvia, in childhood, and his brothers, Raymond, Dr. James J. and Joseph, in infancy.
Rocky was a US Army veteran, member of KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge #2, Southside Civic Club, and Carpenters Local #174. He was an avid fisherman who never missed Sunday"s at St. Joe"s Park. He will be greatly missed by his best man and best friend, James Culik, along with many other dear friends.

A Celebration of Rocky"s life will be held on Saturday, September 10 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM, then in procession to St. Joseph Church, Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday, September 10 from 3- 8 PM at:
