John R. Zelinski, at rest Thursday July 15, 2010, at his late residence with his family by his side after a seven year courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Survived by his loving wife of 42 years Sharron (nee Grein) Zelinski, father of Cheryl Zelinski, Charlene (Raul) Bravo, Robert (Deborah) Zelinski, Barbara (Erick) Hallick, Linda Zelinski, Grandfather of Elizabeth, Jessica and Stephanie Bravo, Elijah and Olivia Zelinski, Lily and Erick Hallick, sister Kathleen (Vicente) Tolentino , Aunt Betty Kolenc, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Born in Joliet. Preceded in death by his parents Aloysius (1995) and Caroline (nee Zbacnik) 1999, his sister and brother-in-law Carol June (2007) (Raymond 1994) Belom.
Graduated from St. Joseph School in 1956 and Joliet Catholic High School in 1960.
Veteran of the US Army, Retired from Kemlite/Dyrotech/Crane in 2004 after 35 years of service. Served as an Usher at St. Joseph Church. John was a Die hard Cubs and Joliet Catholic Fan.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday July 17, 2010 with prayers at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 16, 20110 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL 60435).
