John A. Udell

John A. Udell, age 89, passed away on Saturday August 11, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Survived by his loving wife Lillian Udell (nee Mores); five sons Joseph (Karen), Mark (Glenna), David (Jacquelyn), John (Colleen), and Paul Udell. Seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his first wife Mary (Cepielik) Udell; parents Elizabeth (Stumph) and Joseph Uidl; and two sisters Hilda (late Ray) Buchler and Elizabeth (Michael) Simovic.

John served in the United States Army in World War 2 on Saipan. He also loved to go dancing at the Croatian Culture Club with his wife and many other friends. He was employed at Common Wealth Edison for 32 years and a volunteer at the ShepardA�??s Table soup kitchen.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in JohnA�??s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.

A Celebration of JohnA�??s life will begin on Tuesday August 14, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home chapel then moving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
