John F. Szafranski Age 78. At rest Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. Survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anne (nee Petric) Szafranski; his loving children, Thomas, Gerald, Yvonne (Stephen) Eickelman, and Michele (Kenneth) Richter; a sister, Lucille Chmiewski. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine (nee Kluge) Szafranski; a sister, Florence Rex. John was born in Joliet. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II. John retired from Lemont Ship Building and Repair. At John's request, Cremation Rites were accorded.
