John T. Such
Age 84, at rest Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Wanda J. (nee Buttry) Such, loving father of Mary Beth (Martin) Guzman and Lisa (David ) Bender, dearest grandfather of Ashlee (Randall) Rummerfield, Marleigh, Amelia and Anthony Guzman, Caroline and Jack Bender, three great grandchildren James, Joseph and Joshua Rummerfield, one sister Caroline Such, and brothers and sisters in-law Glen (Rose) Thorson and Butch (Judy) Buttry, also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents John and Sophia (nee Schapski) Such, four sisters Mary (John) Erio, Florence Such, Sophie Thorson and Caroline in infancy, three brothers Ted (Dena), Stanley and Edward in infancy. John was born in Morris, IL residing in Joliet for the past 45 years. He was a graduate of Morris High School and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He began his career with Harry F. Shea CPA, became comptroller for Lee"s Super Market, and founded John T. Such and Associates retiring in 1996. He was a veteran of the US Navy Air Corp WWII, very active in the Rival"s Club, American Legion Post #1080, past member and president of IAAI and a member of the Old Timers Baseball Club. John was an avid fan of Joliet Catholic football, loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name to Children"s Memorial Hospital for Leukemia research or masses at St. Ambrose Catholic Church of Crest Hill would be appreciated. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30AM . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 10AM. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris, IL. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8PM.
