John A. Strle
Age 88, at rest Monday July 19, 2010 at his home with his family by his side. Loving father of Paul Strle and Don (Chris Quigley) Strle, dearest grandfather to Ryan, Allie, Samantha and Jacob Quigley, one brother Richard Strle, two sisters-in-law Ceil (late Raymond) and Louise (late Edward) Strle also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded by his wife Patricia A. (nee Carlos) Strle (May 3,2004), daughter Lois Strle, parents John and Frances (nee Muren) Strle, step father Frank ""Babe"" Gregorash, four brothers Raymond, Edward, Gus and William Strle. John was born in Joliet and a life long resident. He retired in 1982 from Northern Illinois Gas Company after 42 years of service. Veteran of US Army WWII, member of the Joliet Rivals Club and Cantigny Post #367 VFW. Special thanks to John"s devoted care giver Vira and caring neighbors.
A Celebration of John"s life will be held on Saturday with prayers at the funeral home at 8:30 AM, then in procession to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Joliet, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 P.M.
