John D. Richardson
October 10, 1927 — February 23, 2011
John D. Richardson, age 83, late of Joliet, died February 23, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center. He was under the care of Joliet Area Community Hospice, and had battled prostate and lung cancer along with heart disease.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ada (nee Bowen) Richardson, brother Jim Richardson of New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Wilder and Lulu (nee Schnuckle), and a brother, George Richardson.
John retired from Joliet Township High School ""A�?? Central Campus after teaching for 35 years. He also taught Adult Education at Joliet Junior College Night School for 27 years. John earned Masters Degrees from the University of Illinois, Michigan State and Rensselaer Poly Tech in Troy, New York.
At John"s request, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
