John W. ""Rocky"" Ratkovich Age 78. At rest Monday, October 10, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with his family by his side. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie (nee Bokan) Ratkovich; his parents, Joseph and Lila (nee Larson) Ratkovich; a sister, Helen Whalen; and three brothers, Matthew, Joseph and Samuel Ratkovich. Survived by his loving children, Karen (David) Ivlow, Toni (Robert) Birkett, Mark (Kathy) and Brian (Anna) Ratkovich; dearest grandfather to Melissa (Jim) Zimmer, John Ivlow, Rick, Scott and Greg Birkett, Rhiannon and Bo Ratkovich, Ron (Erica) and Carrie Tibble and Thomas Bronikowski; nine great grandchildren, Michael, Hali and John (Trish) Ivlow, Dameon Birkett, Alex Tibble, Jordan Ibarra, Madalyn Ratkovich and Kevin and Rachel Zimmer; a brother, Walter (Betty) Ratkovich; a sister, Pearl (Peter) Jokich; and his dog, Sasha. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. John was born in Chicago, and has resided in the Lockport and Plainfield areas for most of his life. John was a United States Army veteran serving during World War II. Retired from Union Oil in 1985 after 41 years of service. John devoted his life to his wife and his family. Contributions to the Joliet Area Community Hospice in his name would be appreciated.
