Of Plainfield, Il. Went home to be with the Lord. Survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Betty (nee Fries); dear children John (Dottie) and Kevin (Jill) Plut, Tammy (Mike) Kleinschmidt and Lori (Dave) Carlson; loving grandchildren Emily (Ben) Feicht, Clara Plut, Andrea and Nick Carlson and Jennifer (Steven) DeWeese; and one great-grandson Hunter John Feicht. Also survived by one brother Alex (Dolores) Plut and four sisters Jenny (late Frank) Priyatel, Mary (John) Anzelc, Bernadine (late Paul) Madruonich and Mildred (late William) Zugel, 2 Sisters in Law Eileen (late Bernard) Plut & Pat (late Robert) Plut, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceeded in death by his parents Alex and Jenny (nee Turk); seven brothers Joseph (Mary), Frank (Sophie), Tony, Albin (Helen), Stanley, Bernard and Robert; and niece Melissa Plut.
John was a proud Marine from 1948 to 1952, having served his country in Korea.
He retired from Marathon Oil Company after 38 years of service. John was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman who loved fishing in Ely, Minnesota. He was a member of American Legion Marine #13 in Plainfield as well as the Plainfield Moose Lodge. John attended St. Joseph Grade School and Joliet Catholic High School.

From where services will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at 9:30am to St. Joseph"s Church Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Visitation will be held Monday from 3-8pm. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
