Age 84.
Passed away peacefully Wednesday June 13, 2012 at Vitas Hospice in Franciscan St. James Hospital.
Survived by his daughters Nancy L. Kuhajda and Christine (Mark) A. Deters; his former wife Alfrieda (nee Wojnarowski) Kuhajda; granddaughters Katherine and Natalie Deters; one sister Monica Stanfel, one brother Robert Kuhajda; and special friend Carolyn.
Preceded in death by his parents Theresa (nee Polcic) and Joseph Kuhajda; four sisters Regina Kuhajda, Theresa Kuhajda, Helen Brick and Albina Blackburn; and five brothers Joseph Jr., Louis, Francis, Benedict and Bernard Kuhajda.
John was born in Joliet. He retired from EJ&E Railroad after 40 years of service. After retirement John worked for the City of Joliet at Union Station. He was a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Catholic Church and was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. John was an avid outdoorsman and had a strong love for his pets.

Private funeral services were held at the funeral home and interment at S.S. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.
