John W. Krohn Age 85, formerly of Wilmington Township and late of St. Charles passed away on November 25, 2010 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (nee Dragovan), his children, John W. (Pamela) Krohn, Kimberly M. (Lawrence) Colwell, David R. (Deborah) Krohn, Holly A. (Mark) Peterson, and Kris J. (Elizabeth) Krohn, his 6 grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John W. and Marie (nee Bell) Krohn, and his sister Carroll (late Ronald) Pohl. He was a recipient of the Military Order of the Purple Heart while he was a Tech Sgt for the US Army during the Battle of the Bulge. John worked at the Joliet Arsenal and then retired as Chief of Procurement at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a member of the Rock Island Historical Society.
In his retirement, John enjoyed traveling, boating, and spending time at his beloved cottage on the Kankakee River. At John"s request cremation rites have been accorded. His family will meet relatives and friends on Friday, December 3 at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park. There will be no service at the funeral home.
