John T. Denvir III
Age 89 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at DuPage Care Center in Wheaton.
Born September 13, 1930 in Berwyn, John was the son of John, Jr. and Florence (Potuznik) Denvir. He will be remembered for his warm smile, harmonious whistle and outgoing personality that touched the lives of everyone who knew him. The “Captain” lived a full and active life boating, fishing and being surrounded by family.
He was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose and contributed to multiple humane organizations as a loving dog owner himself. He was proud to become ordained so he could share in the special day of others.
Survivors include his children: Donna (Clifford) LaPearl, Judy (William) Dyon Sr. daughter-in-law Jane (late John IV) Denvir, James (Vicki) Denvir, Thomas Denvir and Timothy Denvir; grandchildren: Lisa (Robert) Sayles, Tanya (Charles Richard) Dettlinger, Jill (Ryan) Harrington, William “Billy” (Vanessa) Dyon Jr., Mindy LaPearl, James (Savannah) Denvir Jr., Thomas (Jill) Denvir, Rachel (Cory) Glass, and Cheryl Denvir; nephew: John Joseph Forte, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John, Jr. and Florence; his wife, Gloria M. Denvir on July 24, 2008; his son, John T. Denvir IV, and his sister, June Brooks.
A private interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice where John will be laid to rest next to his wife, Gloria.
