John DelRose, age 72 of Plainfield, passed away on December 20, 2024, after an extended illness, in his Plainfield home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 22, 1952 in Joliet, IL to his parents Pasquale DelRose and Rosemary DelRose (nee Sears).
John and his wife Rose enjoyed forty-seven years of marriage together before his passing. The two of them raised a family of three children and ultimately adored three grandchildren. John was well educated, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in finance. He had a long career and most recently served as a Purchasing Manager in the steel industry. John saw no need to overly complicate life. Instead, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He truly loved spending time with his family, and he always did his very best to provide for them in every way. He was a sports fanatic, completely dedicated to his beloved Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He was also passionate about sharing his love of sport and the many lessons that it can teach through his coaching endeavors. He was an active and valued member of both the St. Joe’s Baseball organization and the Joliet Raiders Football Program. After retirement, John developed an affinity for Hallmark movies. He steadfastly believed in the idea that no matter what challenges life may bring, if you loved the people around you completely, and they in turn loved you, then all could be conquered and life could be beautiful.
John was preceded in death by his parents Pasquale and Rosemary.
He is survived by, his loving wife of forty-seven years, Rose DelRose (nee Lipsey), his children; Jason (Jenica) DelRose, Gina DelRose, and Jenny (Matt) McCann, his grandchildren; Gianna and Jocelyn DelRose and Violet McCann, his brother Bill (Leane) DelRose as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many other extended family, friends, and loved ones also survive.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held to honor John’s life on Wednesday, January 15, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL 60435. Per John’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and he will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Resurrection Cemetery, 200 W Romeo Rd. Romeoville, IL.
