John R. Davidson "Jack," age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 05, 2015 with his loving family by his side.
John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Irene (nee Felix) Davidson; children, Richard (JoAnne) Davidson and Jane Davidson; grandchildren, Jill (Jeff) Robinson, Lisa (Brad) Becker, Brian Davidson and Roger Davidson; great-grandchildren, Parker and Quinn Robinson and Lilly and Thomas Becker; sisters-in-law, Roberta (the late Bob) Davidson, Doris (the late George) Davidson, Trudy (Ed) Sienko of Sarasota, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Florence (nee Patton) Davidson; one child in infancy, Marie Davidson; brothers, Bill (Ruth), Bob and George Davidson; brother-in-law, Victor Felix.
Jack was born and raised in the Grundy County area. He grew up farming with his father and brothers and continued to farm for his entire life. Jack was the president of the Will County Farm Bureau and was on the Will DuPage FS Board. He was also a board member of the Illinois Valley Workshop in Morris, IL. Jack considered farming a hobby and a part of his life, it was not a job to him and he loved spending time in the fields teaching his son how to carry on his legacy. Jack also enjoyed going golfing and playing euchre with his family and close friends. He enjoyed his life to the fullest and will be truly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name to Camp Courageous,12007 190th St, Monticello, IA 52310, Cornerstone Services or St. Mary Catholic Church, Minooka restoration fund would be appreciated.
A celebration of Jack's life will begin on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 with a service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Monday, June 8, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3-7 p.m.
