John M. Cherf III

John M. Cherf III, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

John is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Diane J. (nee Kaminski) Cherf; children, Thomas, Steven Cherf; step-children, Amy (Chad) Huber, William (Angel) Mattes, Jr,; grandchildren, Gavin and Alex Huber, Kadence, Michael and Dylan Mattes, Jr.; siblings, Don (Carol) Cherf, Rose (Dick) Zimmermann,Mike (Mary) Cherf, sister-in-law, Pat Cherf; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Ann (nee McGinn) Cherf.

John was born in Antigo, Wisconsin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife, friends and his feline companions Toby, Snowy, Samantha. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

A celebration of John’s life will begin on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
