Age 54. Peacefully on Sunday April 15, 2012 at his home. Jonathan was born in Joliet and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Providence Catholic High School in 1975, and attended Illinois Benedictine University and Lewis University. Jonathan was an avid baseball fan and loved the Cube and White Sox. Jon was a consummate friend of all friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Survived by his loving mother, Ezra Lee (nee Gavin) Carruthers; 3 brothers, Mike (Theresa) of Joliet , Ken (Deborah) of Chicago, and Tom (Joy) of Dallas, TX.; an aunt, Annie Little of Joliet, an uncle, Arthur Gavin of Indianapolis. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, Paul Carruthers (1971), his maternal grandparents; Ezra and Mattie Gavin, and John and Willie Carruthers.
Funeral services for Jonathan Carruthers will be Friday April 20, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Reverend Larry B. Tyler officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services.
