John R. Anzelc
John, 85, was born December 2, 1923 and passed away on September 24, 2009. He is survived by his loving children Raymond, John (Linda), Mary Ellen, Janet (Larry) Orr, and Michael (Cathleen); grandchildren Erin (Nick Wildman) Burke, Michael Burke, Molly and Lauren; great-granddaughter June Katherine Wildman; brother and sisters Charles (Evelyn), Theresa (Benny) Papesh, Dolores (Jack) Emery, Betty (late John) Burkhardt. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary (nee Plut) Anzelc (married on December 27, 1947); parents Anton and Anna (nee Gersich); brothers and sisters and spouses Anton (Sue), William (Catherine), Frances (Matthew) Senffner, Johanna (John) Gorc, Matilda (Steve) Tadey, Joseph (Bertha) Sterle, Anna (Edwin) Montgomery, Mary (Martin) Kambic.
Born in Rockdale, IL; veteran of the US Navy WWII serving on the USS Caldwell; retired from Illinois Bell Telephone; member of the St. Joseph Holy Name Society, KSKJ, The Slovenian Culture Center, Lemont, The Slovenian Women"s Union and Cantigny Post #367. John volunteered countless hours to a variety of projects for St. Joseph Parish; including helping build the cemetery chapel. He was a quiet, kind, hardworking man who was devoted to his beloved wife and family. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Loyalton of Joliet and Courtyards of Joliet for all their care and compassion during John"s brief stay. In lieu of flowers, please remember John and his family in your prayers. Say hi to ma, we miss you both.

A Prayer Service will be held by the St. Joseph Holy Name Society at 10:30 AM then will proceed to St. Joseph"s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
