John E. Adamich, age 85, passed away, following a brief illness, on Saturday, May 20, 2017 peacefully with his loving family by his side.
John is survived by his loving children, Jack (Anna) Adamic, Kathleen (Tony) Costa and Mary Adamic; cherished grandchildren, Erin (Scott) Foat, John (Kelly Spitzner) Adamic, Anthony and Christopher Costa; dearest great-grandchildren, Dylan and Brooklynn Foat; brother, Joseph (Joan) Adamic, John’s stepmother, Joanna Adamic, numerous uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Loretta (nee Schwab) Adamic; parents, John and Catherine (nee Reibel) Adamich; stepmother, Cele (nee Heferle) Adamic.
John attended Joliet Township High School graduating class of 1948. John was a proud veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1949 to 1952 achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was employed at Commonwealth Edison in the overhead department for 38 years retiring in 1989. He was an active member of the IBEW and various labor organizations throughout Will County and the State of Illinois.
He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, golfing and camping. John loved spending time with his family and friends. He touched the lives of many children coaching little league baseball for over 20 years. John will be leaving behind a host of lifelong friends.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Presence St. Joseph Hospital and Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A celebration of John’s life will begin on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 with a visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet.
