Age 49, at rest Monday July 24, 2006 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with her family by her side after a courageous three year battle with breast cancer. Survived by her husband of 29 years Michael J. Gornick. Loving mother of Jennifer (Jeff) Crompton, Nicholas (Jacqueline) and Michael Jr. Gornick. Dearest grandmother of Jacob, Jeremy and Jenna Crompton and future grandchild Nathan Gornick. Parents Samuel and Mary (nee Kostos) Bertolone, a brother John (Sharon) Bertolone and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends also survive. JoAnn was born in Joliet and was a life-long resident. She shampooed and was a receptionist for the last 20 years at Sensational Hair Studio in Joliet. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her numerous pets. Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Rd. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Private interment services will be held on Friday.
