Jim Myers

July 18, 1943 — October 17, 2013

Jim "Moosha" Myers, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, JoAnne (nee Stefanich); his children, Stephanie (Bob) Bolek,Jr., Bradley (Heather) Myers and Bryan (Staci) Myers; his cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon and Brenna Bolek, Madilyn and Brayden Myers, Eli and Lawson Myers; one sister, Barbara (Robert) Polancich; his three nephews, Craig (Margaret), Scott (Claudia) and Ross (Ashleigh) Polancich; numerous aunts and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Ruth (nee Horak) Myers.

Jim was a loving father to his children and continued to show the same love to his grandchildren who he dearly cherished. He instilled in them a love of art through many creative projects. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing trips with his sons and friends. Jim loved photography and was always prepared to shoot the perfect picture. He was a car enthusiast and former member of the Joliet Sports Car Club. Jim was an owner of numerous British sports cars. He always put his family and friends first. Jim will be remembered for his amazing creativity and his ability to make people laugh, he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers donations in Jim's name may be made to the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet IL, 60431.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to all of the wonderful care provided by Joliet Area Community Hospice and Alden of Shorewood.

A Celebration of Jim's life will begin on Sunday, October 27, 2013 with a memorial visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet. Prayers will be on Monday, October 28, 2013 in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then moving in procession to St. Jude Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Per Jim's wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
