Jesus Alcantar

Jesus Alcantar, age 63, at rest on Friday, February 05, 2016 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with kidney cancer.

Jesus is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Anita Alcantar; children, Maria G. (Fabian Guzman) Alcantar, Yoni (Lupe) Alcantar, Leticia (Miguel Cervantez) Alcantar; grandchildren, Fabio, Miguel A. and Neymar Guzman, Angel Alcantar, Frankie and Anissa Lopez and Leslie Cervantez; siblings, Pablo (Eva), Enrique (Celinda), Juan (Susanna), Refujio (Evelia) and Hibet Alcantar; sister-in-law, Consuelo (the late Tomas) Zamudio; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Erasmo and Guadalupe Alcantar; brother, Tomas Alcantar; and sister, Carmen (Aurelio) Guzman.

Jesus loved spending time with all of his family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, including gardening and observing the beauty of trees and flowers. Jesus was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Joliet. He will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Jesus’ life will begin on Friday, February 12, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Jackson Street, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
