Age 89, Jessie died peacefully at home Tuesday, February 12, 2008.
Survived by by three sons, Charles (Gayle), Michael (Deborah), Bruce (Donna); and ten grandchildren; sister-in-law, Josephine Cobetto; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Stimac (2004); parents, Frank and Mamie (nee Matoura) Cobetto; and brother, Bernard.
Jessie was born in St. David, IL, and lived in Crest Hill for most of her life. She completed her nurses training at the St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 and served in the Army Corps of Nurses during WWII. After the war she worked at Caterpillar Tractor in Joliet, and as a nurse for many years at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Silver Cross Hospital and Our Lady of Angels Nursing Home.
Jessie's family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother. She kept her sweet spirit until the end of her life.
The family wishes to thank Garret Elsin who provided years of home health care through the Veteran's Administration and also to the staff of Joliet Area Community Hospice who provided tremendous support to the family.
In lieu of flowers donations Saint Anne's Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Chapel services will be held Friday at the funeral home at 12:00/noon. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:00 AM until time of services.
