Jesse Cabrera, age 91, entered eternal life Thursday, October 9, 2014 with his loving family by his side.
Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Adela (nee Ramos); brothers, John (the late Mary), Joseph (Louise), Robert (Audrey); sisters, Carmen (the late Daniel) Cabrera, JoAnn (the late Victor) Pena, Connie (the late James) Bair, Mary Lou (Edward) Chartrand, and Patricia (Edward) Hernandez; grandchildren, Joseph (Mary Grace) and Christina Cabrera; great-grandson, Anthony Jay Cabrera; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cabrera; mother, Trinidad Cabrera (nee Barones); son, Jay A. Cabrera; sister, Anita Jaime; step-mother, Mary Cabrera; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Shields.
Jesse graduated from Joliet Township High School and DeVry Institute of Technology. He retired from Gier Radio and T.V. after 53 years of employment.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Joliet Area Community Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jesse's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A Celebration of Jesse's life will begin on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel to begin at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Bernard Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL 60435.
